Help Support Mark and Carol to get through

Mark and Carol met after the devastation of the Christchurch earthquakes in 2011; Carol had suddenly found herself as a single parent having to cope with the stress and devastation while still working full time as a caregiver while raising two young teens; so she did what most did in their situation at the time and used Facebook to connect with friends and find that lifeline of support. And find it, she did…

It was through the power of Social Media that Carol 'met' Mark, he was always there for her with kind words and encouragement and a strong bond formed between them. It wasn't long before their friendship blossomed into romance and Mark soon found himself leaving the safety of the less shaky Isle to join Carol and her two Girls and set up their home together in Canterbury.

Of course things went from Good to Better, to Great for the beautiful couple, who found themselves a gorgeous little home to decorate and make their very own slice of paradise with. They were engaged soon after and life appeared to be getting rosier, wonderful family moments overflowed with the promise of their future together.

That was until Mark was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour in 2015. The Radiation and Treatment went very well and Mark was given the 'All Clear" in March of this year.

A few weeks ago Carol began to notice that all was not well again. Consequently Mark collapsed and was taken to Christchurch Hospital on Monday, October 10th, where it was determined that his Tumour has returned, this time, more aggressive than before. As you will understand, this has once again become a challenging time for them both. Carol will need to be Mark's full-time caregiver and will have to give up her work to be able to care for Mark.
