Fundraising so we can help stray, abandoned and lost cats in the Wellington region.

Wellington

Found-a-Feline is a small volunteer search-&-rescue team dedicated to locating lost, stray, & abandoned cats. We have no physical premises — all our work is feild based: searching, trapping, and safely transferring cats to established rescues or shelters for ongoing care.

What we do and what makes us different:

• Track missing cats using behaviour-based techniques

• Trap and recover hard-to-reach cats & kittens

• Respond to urgent or high-risk situations

• Transport recovered cats to rescues, shelters, or vets

• Provide owners with practical guidance to maximise reunions

And thanks to the generosity of a supporter we now have access to advanced thermal-imaging technology, allowing us to detect cats at night and locations such as under buildings, in bush, drains, construction sites, & other high-risk areas

How the thermal service works:

When a call-out requires this specialised equipment, we ask for a small donation. This helps keep our rescue work sustainable while still providing an effective, compassionate search service. The donation supports fuel, equipment upkeep, trap replacement, & safety gear — basically the stuff that lets us keep showing up when cats are in trouble.

What we don’t do

We are not a shelter. Medical care, desexing, vaccinations, & adoptions are handled by the rescues or shelters we transfer cats to, under their own policies & fees.

Fundraising for a Microchip scanner  18 December 2025

🎄 12 Days of Christmas – $1 Pledge Challenge 🎄

We’re raising further funds to purchase another Halo microchip scanner — an essential tool that helps us identify cats quickly and reunite them with their families.

We’re asking as many people as possible to pledge just $1.

If 154 people give $1, we reach our goal. Simple. Achievable. Powerful.

This scanner means:

🐾 Faster scanning in the field

🐾 More reunions, less uncertainty

❤️ $1 helps. Sharing helps just as much.

Help us hit 154 pledges

Small pledges. Real impact.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
