Stephen is facing advanced prostatic cancer, severe heart disease, unnecessary heartbreaking legal stress he is too unwell to fight alone.
Nationwide
Stephen lives in a small, remote village in India, and right now he is facing more than anyone should have to endure alone.
He is battling advanced metastatic prostate cancer and heart disease. The toll on his body has been immense—his strength, independence, and the life he once lived have all changed.
Stephen was once a hardworking man who supported himself through farming and working as a wedding planner in his community. He was also someone who quietly gave back, volunteering at his local church—cooking for priests
He is basically dependent on my mother and I for financial support.
He requires medication costing around 25,000 rupees per week (approximately $600 NZD) just for his chemo whre he takes atleast another 7 meds for his heart issues. My mother and I are doing everything we can to get him by, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up.
He is also currently facing unexpected legal challenges regarding family property, which has added a heavy financial and emotional weight. Due to financial difficulties and his ill health we have not been able to get a lawyer for him in NZ yet.
Instead of focusing on healing, he is carrying the weight of stress alongside his illness.
As Stephen's niece, it is heartbreaking to watch someone who has given so much now go through this.
