Arvin's fundraising page
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
Kia ora whānau,
We are raising funds to support my son, Arvin T. Angarra, as he prepares to represent Aotearoa Māori Poirewa – the NZ Māori Volleyball Team, Thailand in September 2025.
Arvin is 14 years old and currently a Year 10 student at Western Heights School, Rotorua. He is passionate about volleyball and has been training diligently with both his school team and the Rotorua Whakarewarewa Sports Club for the past two years. On the 8th of September 2024, Arvin participated in the Aotearoa Māori Poirewa trial at Aquinas College, Tauranga, and we are thrilled to know that he was selected for the Under-16 squad Aotearoa Māori Poirewa to compete at the Asian National Qualifiers Tournament in Thailand.
My wife and I are originally from Indonesia, but Arvin was born and raised in Rotorua, and being selected and chosen to represent Aotearoa Māori Poirewa is an incredible achievement for him. It’s a unique opportunity for him to immerse himself in different cultures and Māori kaupapa, which will be essential for his personal and future development.
The tournament trip will cost around $5000, and Arvin aims to raise $2000. Arvin is a friendly and hardworking young man. This experience will not only boost his confidence but also provide him with invaluable life lessons for his future.
Since we don’t have access to any support from kura, iwi, hapū, or whānau trusts. Any contributions toward helping Arvin reach his goal would mean the world to us.
Ngā mihi nui,
The T. Angarra Whānau
This covers; a uniform kit, Return Flights from Auckland to Bangkok, accommodation for 9

An update about Arvin's fund rasing. 1 October 2024
I’m updating you on a change in our fundraising plans for Arvin.
Arvin has chosen to represent his school's volleyball team in Auckland and New Plymouth instead of representing AMP in Bangkok. While there are still costs involved, his choice has significantly eased the financial burden on our family.
Since we no longer need to do fundraising, I have now closed the page, and I have returned all the full amount of the funds raised to his aunty, friends, and colleagues.
Thank you again for your support and generosity. Your kindness means a lot to us.
All donations have been refunded directly to the donors by the page owner. Should you have not already received your refund please let us know via helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by next Tuesday, October 8th.
