We are seeking to raise $2700 to purchase and install an AED (defibrillator) in Ruby Bay to serve residents between Mapua and Tasman.
Nelson / Tasman
The Mapua and Districts Community Association (MDCA) monitors and maintains 4 existing Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) in the Mapua village.
We are seeking to raise funds to install a 5th AED outside the Ruby Bay Kitchen, Stafford Street, Ruby Bay to better service residents between Mapua and Tasman Village.
AEDs are vital in the attempt to revive patients who have had cardiac arrests. They are used in conjunction with CPR whilst waiting for Emergency Services to arrive. Time is of the essence and no device is publicly available in the Ruby Bay area.
Jennian Homes offer reduced priced AEDs to organisations and the $2700 will enable the Community Association to purchase the device and the cabinet to install it in. Replacement pads and batteries are also required if the devices are used.
Well done donors 20 March 2020
It is with great pleasure that we can advise all our generous donors that we have achieved our goal of $2800.
The AED has been purchased via Jennian Homes and the new device has been installed between the Hair Lounge and Ruby Bay Kitchen, 172 Stafford Street, Ruby Bay.
We will advise when we are running a training session on the Mapua Community Association FaceBook.
