No contribution is too small. Your support will bring Ritishna and her loved ones hope in a time of unimaginable challenge.
Auckland
We are reaching out with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency on behalf of Ritishna, a vibrant 23-year young woman from Fiji who has recently been diagnosed with blood cancer (Leukemia). Just days ago, she was living a normal, active life—working and contributing to her family and community—until Friday, 25 July, when she received this devastating diagnosis.
Ritishna was immediately admitted to hospital, where she received emergency blood and platelet transfusions. She was discharged on Monday, 28 July, but during her first follow-up check-up, she was readmitted due to complications related to her condition. Her health is deteriorating rapidly, and time is of the essence.
Doctors in Fiji have sadly confirmed that treatment is not available locally. Ritishna must urgently seek advanced care overseas.
The hospital in India has provided an official medical expense estimate of FJD $102,000. This covers treatment only. In addition, the family must secure accommodation and cover daily living expenses in India for at least six months, placing a further financial burden on them.
We are appealing to your kindness and generosity to help give Ritishna a fighting chance.
