Wellington

On the 21st November 2020, the world lost the beautiful Jessica Jacellyn Savariar. Mother to her two gorgeous children who she loved so much, son Jaylen (9 years old), and daughter Jaynell (6 years old) and beloved wife to her husband Adrin J Anthony. She was only 34 when she unexpectedly collapsed due to a brain aneurysm on 12 November 2020.

The family's life was turned upside down. Jessica was raced to Palmerston North Hospital where she had an MRI scan, and then was flown to Wellington Hospital by helicopter. Here she had her first brain surgery. She had her second brain surgery on 13th November, which took 10 hours. This immediately went into a third surgery. On the 16th November, Doctors found another 'weak spot' in her brain. On 21st November, Jessica had what the Doctors called, an 'unsurvivable brain bleed'. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her husband, children and friends on the evening of 21st November 2020.

Adrin and Jessica moved their family to New Zealand from Malaysia in hopes to give their kids a great future in April 2019. They came over on a Student Visa, where Adrin took a one year course in Wellington to study IT. After he finished he looked so hard to find a job that suited his qualifications in the field of cybersecurity. Jessica began working at Kimi Ora School in Wellington as a Teacher Aide, Monday to Friday, and at the children's Toy Library on the weekends. Jessica was a fabulous Teacher Aide, due to her calm, kind and caring nature. She made wonderful friendships with the staff and built strong relationships with students. It was hard to farewell such a strong Teacher Aide when Adrin got a great job in Palmerston North, in July 2020.

When the family relocated to Palmerston North Jessica again worked as a Teacher Aide in a Special Needs Unit in a mainstream school. Her love for working with kids and her patience and nurturing nature was carried through until her last days.

The last 10 days have been so hard for the family, and it will be a long road ahead as they grieve a much-loved wife, mother and friend. Jessica was a hard-working woman who adored her family and wanted the best for them. She always had a smile and a beautiful soft-spoken nature.

Due to COVID-19, Jessica's family are unable to say a proper goodbye to her as they are still living in Malaysia. They have no family here to support them in New Zealand. They have a small but amazing network of friends to support them. However, the cost of a funeral and living on one income is overwhelming to think about in their time of grief. Please give what you can to help this incredible family as they face the hardest time of their lives.
