Support my journey to the Sub-Antarctic Islands with the BLAKE foundation!
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
Kia Ora, my name is Zoe I am 16 and a year 13 student from Rotorua Girls High School. I am so excited and grateful to have received this opportunity as one of only 10 students in New Zealand to join the 2025 BLAKE Foundation expedition voyage to the Sub Antarctic islands aboard the HMNZS Canterbury. The BLAKE Foundation, established to continue Sir Peter Blake's environmental legacy, is dedicated to educating and inspiring young New Zealanders to care for the environment through expeditions and hands-on experience. This expedition offers me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain first-hand experience in environmental science and conservation. During this expedition, I will have the privilege of working alongside the New Zealand Navy, D.O.C, and a team of renowned scientists conducting research.
As a student with aspirations to study environmental science, this expedition provides a head start and a glimpse into what my future career could look like. I will gain real world experience in one of the world's most pristine nature reserves, and contribute to important research on these remote ecosystems. As apart of the programme the Sir Peter Blake foundation has asked for us voyagers to fundraise $2000 and to raise the profile of the expedition in the process. This fundraising will support both the BLAKE foundation and myself for this trip!
Ngā mihi nui!
