We are fundraising to get the Brick Buddies club up and running for our awesome neurodivergent kids in Napier.
Hawke's Bay
Brick Buddies has been dreamed up to cater for our kids in Napier that need support in social environments, with sensory needs, anxiety, ADHD, Autism spectrum etc. It's a place of belonging for all our awesome geometric personalities.
This is a community club created by Lesley Ranford. It is her vision to provide a safe space for neurodiverse children and parents, and uplift those who may benefit from support with social communication. We are fundraising to get the supplies needed to get Brick Buddies up and running so our kids can benefit.
Our mission is to advocate, connect and support meaningful interaction by providing social opportunities for neurodiverse children through Lego.
Lesley is mum to 3 rowdy boys. One of these boys is a unique, funny, interesting and book smart shouty kid with his own set of challenges - anxiety, sensory processing difficulties and ADHD. She wants a place for our kids that aren't square to connect without pressure or judgement, to just be themselves, because diamonds are better anyway! Neurodiversity isn't a disability, it's a different ability.
This will also be a safe place for parents to sit and take a breather. Have a cuppa and connect with other parents who may offer support or ideas to support your child.
It is intended to hold a monthly Saturday Lego Club. When all details are finalised it will be updated in the Facebook group.
Opportunities create Possibilities.
I am Lesley's sister and will be helping her run the club.
