Miro is fundraising to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, August 2023.

Hawke's Bay

Miro is fundraising to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, August 2023.

This will be the trip of a lifetime with 50,000 young people from 170 countries attending. It will be the largest gathering of young people in the world.

Miro will be representing Napier and New Zealand at one of the largest youth events ever. He will be an ambassador, showing our culture to the world, exchanging ideas and cultures and gifts with scouts from all over the world.

We need to raise $10,000 so are looking for help from our family, friends and anyone who can help.

Miro is working hard behind the scenes to fundraise.

So far we have raised $8,500 including offline donations and this Givealittle page. We have $1500 to go.

From Miro:

As a young person who has been living with the Covid disruption for two years now I appreciate the amazing opportunity World Jamboree is to actually do something amazing! I cannot think of a country and culture I would be more interested in experiencing than South Korea. I am learning some Korean phrases to use to make friends. I am very interested in the traditional and contemporary culture and to learn more about the DMZ. And go to the waterpark – that looks cool.

I think going to World Jamboree would be a life-changing experience for me. I would absolutely love to travel overseas and to do it with scouts, which means I would get to do things I have never done before and challenge myself, would be awesome.

Use of funds

Money will be spent on the costs of attending the Jamboree. Miro is working a part-time job and undertaking other fundraising activities to contribute.
