Fundraising for Rob and his battle with cancer so he can see his grandchildren grow up ❤️
Bay of Plenty
Rob is a loving Poppa and a crystal lover that has recently found out he has cancer through an operation we thought would solve all his problems, this surgery was to remove a lump in his bladder.
Unfortunately this surgery provided us with information every family dreads, that it is cancer. After the procedure the surgeon stated that if we had’t paid out of pocket for this initial surgery Robs cancer would likely be too far gone to survive which is why we need to act so quickly.
We now know this cancer is a high grade aggressive form of cancer and we will need to act quickly to make sure Rob can live to see his grandchildren grow up and explore the world in some way if he can.
The initial surgery cost was 18k and the next surgery is expected to cost 90k, this is to remove the bladder and hopefully remove the cancer for good.
Because this is such a high and unexpected cost that nobody could determine and we can’t afford to wait for the public health system with wait times being a minimum of 3 months and the cancer being so aggressive we are hoping to raise some funds to help ease the financial burden.
While we are blessed Rob has been able to withdraw his KiwiSaver this also means he no longer has anything to fall back on for his retirement an with the cost of living only on the rise this makes it all the more uncertain financially.
Thank you for reading Robs story and thank you for any and all donations, every dollar counts ❤️
Rob is my father and Poppa to my 3 boys and step daughter
The money will be used towards paying for the unfunded surgical costs and anything remaining will be put into long term savings (kiwisaver) for Robs retirement.
