Sophies Legacy

Hi, my names nikita & i am 25 & live in the bay of plenty. In July 2012 i lost my first child Sophie, she was stillborn at 34 weeks 5 days, unfortunatly no cause was found as to why our sophie passed away suddenly. In 2014 on her 2nd birthday we launched sophie bears.

In memory of our beautiful Sophie, we thought we would reach out and help others in a similar situation, others that are going through child loss. One of the biggest things on this journey is the feeling of empty arms. The desire to hold what rightfully you should be holding, but aren't. Words cannot express the feeling.

With Sophie's birthday fast approaching which is an extremely difficult time for us, we thought it would be a real tribute to her to continue with Sophie's bears as another year passes. We have agreed with Tauranga hospital to supply them with bears for the approximate number of babies they loose each year in Sophie's memory. Each will be tagged with a little message from our family to another family beginning this journey. If we can give these families in memory of Sophie, something to hold on to, then it is a small step to helping them exist.

We are reaching out to family and friends whom might like to support us with Sophie's Legacy and make a small donation. All the money will be used to fund her legacy, so hopefully you can think of it as a charitable donation.
