  • Finished!!!

This update is a little delayed but better late than never as they say! On the 10.04.2023, I arrived in Bluff which marked the end of my long hike. It was an incredible journey to walk the length of New Zealand and I am so grateful to have such a beautiful country to call home. I met some awesome people along the way and saw some spectacular scenery. Thank you so much to everyone for your generous donations to PASH. It will help PASH continue their important task of providing veterinary services and a shelter to the animals in Fiji.

Only 68 km and 2 days left of walking to do! It's amazing to think my journey is nearly finished. Yesterday I reached the south coast, which was awesome after several days hiking in a very muddy forest. I celebrated with a quick dip in the sea and a massive burger. Have a Happy Easter everyone!

  • 500 km to go!

Tomorrow I will walk past the 2500 km mark, which means that there is only 500 km to go! Crazy! So far the trail on the South Island has been amazing but the weather has been a bit of a mixed bag. Due to this the walk is taking longer than expected so I have changed my closing date till the end of April.

Here is a picture of a friendly little South Island Robin, who followed me in the bush for a while.

I love the Robin Clare and I'm glad you had him as a friend for a short while on your trail. Good luck for the last 500km. XxX

I have just completed the first two sections in the South Island! This included the Queen Charlotte Sounds and the Richmond ranges. The scenery was stunning! It also means that I have covered nearly 2/3 of the trail! Here is a picture of the beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound.

Thank you for all your support so far!

Thank you so much to everyone who has generously donated so far!

I started my hike on 22.11.2022 on a very windy wet day. Just completed the first 100 km which went along 90 mile beach. It was pretty challenging walking on the sand every day but I enjoyed experiencing its wild beauty.
