Hi, my name is Gabby — a 12-year-old who loves sport, and I just found out I made it into the top team for Sports Camp! 🎉

This is a huge deal for me. I've been trialling at school all term and not only did I get in — I got into the top team too!

Sports Camp is a week of competitive sports at Totara Springs, Matamata, with schools from across the Auckland, Bay of Plenty, and Waikato regions. Teams compete across over 20 sports — from rugby, netball, and volleyball, to petanque, chess, and croquet, and more.

A bit about me: this is my fourth year playing in a premier football team for my club, Bay Olympic — in a mixed team, competing with the boys.

To keep my spot I'll be 110% committed to the training programme, with sessions at 7:15am, lunchtimes, and after school.

Sports Camp will give me the chance to play new sports and see what competition looks like as I get older — and I absolutely cannot wait.

All the money will go towards paying for the fee to go to Sport's Camp.
