Sadly Gabriel Taylor passed away last July aged just 4 years and 2 days. I am raising funds for a memorial in his honour.
Auckland
Dear friends & family
I am emailing those to knew and miss little Gabriel. A truly gorgeous little fella.
Since last September, I have been in touch with Auckland council to ask for a memorial plaque for Gabriel at a park which he played at.
After much contact and much more red tape, they have agreed to allow a piece of park equipment (a fire engine) with GT10 as the number plate. GT for his initials and 10 for the year he was born. The council will not allow a conventional memorial plaque...yet. The fire engine will be at The Jean Sampson Reserve in Northcote Point.
The council will pay for installation and maintenance of the fire engine but I am collecting the total of $4770 incl GST to pay for the actual fire engine.
All details are on the pdf attached. In order to install the equipment by 30th June, I need to get back to them with funds by March 31st.
We all know this will not ease any of the pain or loss for Sarah & Aaron but it is something Gabriel would have liked to have played on, and something that will last in his memory. To be played on by many that knew him, and those that didn't , will enjoy it and wonder. All that remembering and wondering can only keep his spirit with us.
I am sending this email with Sarah & Aaron's consent.
Please be generous.
Thanks
Georgina
I first met Gabriel and his mother Sarah a month after they arrived in Auckland from the UK. Our families have been close ever since. Gabriel was very special to us and we miss him greatly.
Wow! Thank you to The Birkenhead Licensing Trust 22 February 2015
It is with great thanks that we received a cheque today towards Gabriel's memorial project of $2000 from the Birkenhead Licensing Trust. We are totally over target now at $7040 but please be assured that we will be spending this donation towards new equipment at the Jean Sampson Reserve - details to follow once confirmed with council. Thanks Birkenhead Licensing Trust - this is a huge gesture and we are very grateful.
