Gary’s Brave Battle

On Saturday 27th June, Gary suffered a major heart attack and was airlifted to waikato hospital, after testing etc found he has a hereditary heart condition and it resulted in him having a stent inserted and sent home the next day. He spent the week adjusting to the new lifestyle that came with this type of condition.

Then on Sunday 5th july he went into cardiac arrest while at home. He was airlifted to waikato hospital and they found a bleed on his brain. He has undergone surgery to relieve the pressure of the bleed and remove the clot and is now in the biggest battle of his life. He is currently sedated with several failed attempts to bring him out of sedation due to stress on his heart resulting in them having to re sedate him each time.

At this stage the outcome of all this trauma is unknown until he wakes, I have started this page to relieve the financial pressure on Anita and family as they are currently staying in a bedside vigil at waikato hospital supporting Gary in his recovery.
