Gary’s Brave Battle

  • Gary’s update today

      11 August 2020

Hi everyone, Gary is doing so well , if you see him you wouldn’t think he has been through such an ordeal. Most days have some sort of app with the medical staff, but apart from that he is doing fantastic.

This is the pages last day and I would like to thank each and everyone of u that generously donated ❤️❤️🌸

  • Great news this update is the best yet! ❤️

      19 July 2020

Gary has had a really good (although tiring) day. It really feels like he has turned a bit of a corner - his speech has improved and he is able to stay awake for longer periods. The family (including his mokos (grandkids)) visited him today which was a big day for him. They are hoping to put the defib in this week, and then possibly start rehab soon afterwards. He is doing well and even managed his first solids today (although a very small amount) ❤

      Awesome

  • Update yesterday for gaz ❤️

      17 July 2020

Gary has had a pretty good day today. The neurosurgeon and cardiologists are happy with his brain and heart at the moment. He had some physio this morning and he managed to stand (kind of) in a special frame/chair that helps him support his weight - this tired him out so he has been sleeping on and off during the day. Jess got to see him for a bit before lunch and he said a couple of sentences really clearly (but slowly) to her so that is awesome! 😍🥰

  • Update on Gazza ❤️

      11 July 2020

We have some really great and encouraging news - gary is out of sedation and breathing on his own! He is still on oxygen but not on the life support machine anymore. He is responsive and has used sign language (gave everyone the finger 🖕 lol) he also waved goodbye to Anita and aanaliese when they said they were going. He is still in ICU and we are not sure for how long, so still no visitors.

There have been a lot of happy tears today! All of your messages of love and support are truly appreciated, there is a long way to go but we all feel so much more optimistic now!

We will continue to update everyone as we can ❤
