Help Geneva (28) to experience joy, love and comfort in her remaining days

I made it out of hospital! It was pretty touch and go for a bit there but luckily I’m now getting settled at home under the care of hospice, my wonderful husband and my closest family and friends.

The latest hospital visit informed us that the cancer has spread to the pericardium (the lining around my heart) which accumulated as a cancerous fluid build up. Essentially the cancer was crushing my heart so it had to be drained. 480mL was drained and although it was a difficult and painful experience, I’m feeling better now that it’s out. This will start to build up again but we’re hoping it will take some time before it’s back at the stage of needing another drain.

We really appreciate all the love and support we’ve been given. The abundance of flowers and meals really have made a difference, and we appreciate all the little things that are helping us on this journey.

Thank you to everyone who had donated to our page, which has eased the pressure off basic needs and enabled James to take some time off work to be there for me when I need it the most.

We appreciate your continued support in the form of loving thoughts sent to us instead of messages.

At this stage, it’s hard to predict just how long I have left, so we’re doing our best to make the most of the days we’ve got.

Here’s some photos from our park adventure yesterday, where James wheeled me up the top of one tree hill and all the way around just so I could see the cherry blossoms 🌸🤍

This isn’t an update we were hoping to share to all those friends, family, loved ones and those who have love for Geneva.

Genevas cancer has progressed, causing substantial deterioration, her system is shutting down. Unfortunately Geneva won’t recover from here and we are told to expect her to survive a week, maybe two. We have had a hospital bed setup at her home in Greenlane and hope to get her home for a window of time to be with her fur babies, favourite things and people.

When it is time for Geneva to leave us, she will be surrounded by her husband James and her family. Geneva will be loved, held and supported right till the end.

Respectfully, please try not to overwhelm Geneva with messages at this time as they can be challenging mentally and emotionally as she feels a responsibility to attempt to respond in her fragile state. What we do ask is if you can hold love in your hearts for Geneva and send good vibes into the universe for her. If any close friends would like updates or have questions they may need answers for, please contact James or Ange and they will do their best to answer ❤️
