GEORGIA SMITH - NZ JUNIOR ROWING TEAM

$400 of $4,000 goal
Given by 12 generous donors in 8 weeks

I am raising funds to get myself to the World Junior Rowing Championships in Rotterdam in August 2016.

Southland

I have been selected to row for the NZ Four at the Junior World Championships this year at Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Funding is required to compete, total cost $9,000 approx. and my Mum and Dad have been able to raise $5,000 from generous local business and contributors in Southland.

I train away from my home town of Invercargill, training and working part-time in Christchurch, this enabled me to meet the qualifying standards for NZ and get selected to row for NZ. The team has to move to Karapiro (Waikato) in June to train prior to going to Europe in August.

All this requires funding and I appreciate even the smallest donation as this will assist me in helping me and my parents fund this trip.

Your donation is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Georgia

I row for the Women's NZ Junior Four and I hope this will be the start of my international career and be the platform for my Olympic dream. Rowing is a lot of hard work and dedication. At 18 I have to live away from home (Invercargill) in Christchurch to attain my sporting goals, and dreams. I look forward to succeeding in this first International sporting opportunity that I have.

Hi Georgia - we haven't had the pleasure of meeting, however your lovely mum has told me lots about your journey and I wish you every success. Very few things compare with standing in front of a crowd with New Zealand's national anthem getting played for you - it's a magical feeling and one to treasure. Good luck with your trip in August, the stepping stone to your Olympic dream. Kind regards Karyn
