Please help to raise funds for our special little girl Georgia who has been re-diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in May 2016.
Nationwide
Update : On the 12th May 2016, exactly one year after being told she was in remission, it was then news that we never wanted to hear again - the cancer is back :(.
Georgia went straight back to Starship and started two rounds of chemo and was told that a bone marrow transplant was the only resolution.
All of the family were tested, but unfortunatly none were a match so a donor was found in Europe.
Georgia will now undergo a week's worth of conditioning before her bone marrow transplant on Thursday the 23rd June 2016. From then it is a long recovery process where may things could go wrong but we all just need to keep positive.
Last year we had booked a trip to Sydney for October 2016 for Georgia to see her favourite band. We are still hopeful of making this trip and the funds created will now help with additional costs involved with getting Georgia's family down from Kaitaia every weekend and making Georgia's Sydney trip one to remember :)
Thank you everyone who has donated so far, we are all so very blessed to have you in our lives xxox
Georgia's summer holidays are now on hold this year as she is in Starship Hospital for at least 4-6 months with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The first dose of chemo started on Boxing Day and she is feeling the effects well and truely now :(. We were lucky enough to have Georgia at home with us on Christmas Day, but it was bitter sweet as we all knew what was in store for the next day. Buck & Jo and Trent have had to uplift their lives in Kaitaia to be with Georgia full time. She has been nothing but a perfect patient, no complaints and still tries to put on a smile every time a visitor, nurse or doctor calls by which just shows how much of a brave and happy girl she is. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have had by everyone who knows Georgia and our family. Although Georgia doesn't need a lot at the moment apart from our love and support, we thought that when she gets better perhaps a family holiday or a room make over could be in order and of course that new outfit for the 5SOS concert in June. Please help out in any little way possible xx
Update : 28/01/2015. Georgia has come through the other side of her first chemo treatment but not without some really hard days including vomiting, fevers, rashes and loosing all of her beautiful hair. Yesterday Georgia was allowed out overnight for just one night so came and stayed with family were we shaved her hair properly so it isn't annoying her anymore. The small holiday was cut short when she woke up this morning with another rash, so back to hospital she went. Tomorrow morning at 7.30am Georgia will be back in theatre having another lumbar puncture and spinal tap to make sure the drugs are doing their thing and then her second round of chemo starts on Friday.
Georgia has been online shopping a little bit with her donation money and has decided she wants a paddle board and a room make over when she gets out which will cost a bit with teenage tastes :)

I am Hayley, Georgia's older sister. Georgia is very special to us all, she always puts a smile on our faces so I can only hope we can do the same for her over the next year as we work through this journey together. xx
