German Backpackers Robbed
"Three young German tourists received a rude welcome to New Zealand when their car was robbed hours after they arrived.
Claudia Robitschko, 20, Janika Duerr, 20 and Lena Schrodel, 22, lost all their belongings when their rental car was broken into last night on a side street in central Auckland.
The women had driven to the city from Auckland airport to buy sim cards after arriving in the country from Australia.
Thieves stole their suitcases which contained all their clothing as well as three cameras, jewellery and an iPhone" Stuff.co.nz
Hi,
My Girlfriend and I have been looking after the girls since the incident on Sunday night. They have been inundated with offers from all over the country & its been amazing to see the Kiwi response.
However last night the girls had a little set back, their Insurance companies back home in Germany, have informed the girls that they are not covered for stolen backpacks. The girls had all their phones, computers and cameras still inside their backpacks.
It would be great if we could get a little bit more help from the Kiwi public. Any small donation will help. At the very least just to replace their cameras so they can take pictures of our beautiful country.
Helping to recuperate funds to acquire their stolen possesions
My girlfiend and I were first to attend the scene of the crime. Claudia, Janika and Lena have been staying at our place in Auckland, after the crime.
