Let’s help Ama take this faith leap as she pursues her dream and trusts in God. What a wonderful experience this will be for her!
Auckland
As many of you know, Ama has a heart of worship and a magnificent heart for God and His people.
Ama has served faithfully with the church, but has recently been given the exciting opportunity to join YWAM’s Island Breeze course in Hawai’i. This opportunity comes at a pertinent time for Ama. She has been on a journey over the last few seasons and this is a welcome and exciting answer to prayer. Hannah and I have been on the journey with Ama, and we have the pleasure of being part of her faith step toward this adventure, in setting up this give-a-little to help faithfully achieve Ama’s dream of getting there.
Ama’s own words follow, as well as an explanation of what the YWAM Island Breeze course is about:
Ama:
“I just love Jesus. My desire is to know Him more. And while on earth, to create atmospheres of worship so that people can find Him and know that they are loved. Jesus is the answer.
After my recent trip to Samoa, I also found myself wondering what it looks and sounds like when we bring our culture as an expression of worship.
Which is why I want to attend YWAM’s Island Breeze course.
At the beginning of this year I said to God that I couldn’t go through another year like the past two years and that I felt like I had lost myself. I was sad and filled with anxiety. I spoke aloud to the disappointment I had been feeling. I shared this with my long time friend Kaf (Kathleen Soo) on her recent trip home to NZ while we drove out to our friends house in Muriwai. She reminded me of God’s promises.
I decided that I did believe that God is good, that He is faithful and that He hears me.
She mentioned Island Breeze. I felt led to enquire by email about this course and instead got a call from Christina at YWAM.
Through messages, she encouraged me to get my application in as she and the team prayed for me, as my fear was finances.
I have none.
I believe this is God setting me up for this season to come, and so have handed in my extended leave request for my job as well as completed my YWAM application. And hey! “it’s by the water”! (Reference to a prophecy a few years ago by Andy Kubala that I would be in a house by the water).
“O Israel, keep hoping, keep trusting, and keep waiting on the Lord, for he is tenderhearted, kind, and forgiving. He has a thousand ways to set you free!”
Psalms 130:7 TPT
Island Breeze:
Island Breeze Hawai’i is a multi-ethnic worldwide community of Christians, committed to the mission of equipping and releasing all nations, tribes, people and languages–wherever they may be– to use the power and beauty of significant indigenous cultural expressions to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God within the nations of the world.
Hannah and I are two of Ama’s close friends.
We have known that this sort of adventure with God has been one of Amas dreams for a long time and now that the opportunity has risen, it is our privilege to help to make it happen for our precious friend.
Lecture fees; application fees; room booking fee; return flight; monthly income for amenities that will still need to be covered at home.
