In September 2015, I am moving to Accra, Ghana to work for IJM (International Justice Mission) as an Investigations Intern for a year.
Nearly 30 million children, women and men are currently held as slaves around the world being subject to physical, emotional and spiritual abuse.
IJM's mission is to rescue the victims from on-going violence. They have adapted a holistic approach to helping the vulnerable and abused, while ultimately seeking to prevent violence from happening in the first place.
IJM is not about finding a quick solution but about equipping developing countries to thrive through ensuring safety and working without exploitation to be a right for their people.
As an Investigations Intern, my role will include
-organising and tracking ongoing operations
-creating intelligence reports
-assisting in the development of protocols, procedures and best practices for the Investigations department
-facilitating investigations through logistical support.
Your support will help cover costs of transport, accommodation and food in Ghana, as well as travel to Washington for orientation and training prior to deployment.
Thankyou for your support and for joining the fight against injustice.
