Let's reward one of the characters of football in New Zealand. Show our appreciation for what Jeremy Ruane does for the game.
Nationwide
Jeremy Ruane is a unique football fan in the fabric of the New Zealand football scene. One that has taken it upon himself to document the history of football in New Zealand - specifically the women's game in this country. The curator of the go-to website https://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/ Jeremy has covered mens and womens matches at the highest level, written about individual games, collated statistics, produced club match magazines, written books and won awards which back up his passion and knowledge of the game he loves. I nominated him for a New Years Honors two years ago but was unsuccessful with the application. Jeremy has spent near on $200,000 of his own money over 31 years covering our local and national football and it would be fantastic if the football community and any interested parties could return some love by helping fund him to France in June/July 2019 to cover our fabulous Football Ferns team who have drawn Canada, Cameroon & Netherlands.
I have known Jeremy Ruane since the mid- to late 1990's through our contact within the football media community of New Zealand. Jeremy has devoted 31 years of his life to promoting womens football in New Zealand and has spent a small fortune doing so - for little or no monetary reward. I'd like to help get him to France to cover the Football Ferns Group E matches against Canada, Cameroon and Netherlands between 7 June - 7 July 2019. I need your help.
Funds will be used by Jeremy to cover airfares, accomodation and food. With a bit of luck he should be able to secure FIFA accreditation to the NZ world Cup games. Any surplus will be used towards future travelling around NZ to cover womens football.
