Kobie has a rare muscular condition. He would like to go to camp in Sydney with other sufferers, in August.
Bay of Plenty
Kobie has Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease. This affects his legs and feet, with him having hammer toes, high arches, and it leaves him unable to do most physical activities. The muscles atrophy because the nerve signals are not getting to his legs and feet properly. I have just discovered the Australian CMT site and found they run a camp for teens with CMT and I'd love for Kobie to go. He wants to go to, but as a single mum on the invalids benefit, it's just not something I can do, which is why I have started this page. Thank you for your support.
I'm just a mum trying to give my disabled child an opportunity. I wasn't able to have these opportunities as I grew up, with the same disability, but I really want to for my son.
Any funds raised will be used for a passport, to pay for the camp, pay for flights to Sydney, and spending money. Also if he needs any special stuff for the camp, eg hiking boots or anything like that.
Thanks so much for your donation. We are only looking at approximately another $150 now so we're getting there. :)
