Charlie went into the spinal rehab unit on the 10th of August.
He has been gradually doing more and more physio and gym as the pressure sores healed. Charlie can now sit in a wheelchair and is zipping around the hospital by himself. He is learning to get himself in and out of the wheelchair independently and working hard with gym and physio.
Diane arrived home on the 6th of October

Excitement and nerves are intensifying with the whole itinerary coming through today.
Charlie Lowe will be leaving Bangkok hospital tomorrow at approximately 3.30 their time in an ambulance transfer to the airport (5hours before us)
They depart at 18.30 local time on the same plane, charlie in business taking up approximately 9 seats and Diane in economy.
Arrive at Singapore Airport at 21.55 local time,
And departing 00.05am for perth. Arriving in perth at 05.10am then ambulance transfer to perth hospital. Huge 48 hours ahead.

Medical escort takes the local ground ambulance and hands over the patient at ED of Royal Perth Hospital
As per the request of the family, funds will now go to Charlie's sister Diane Moore.
A flight to perth is being organized for next week. This will require a doctor and nurse escort and charlie lying on a stretcher taking up 9 seats. Cost $31,000.
This is the cheeper option than coming back to nz at this stage.
He will likely be in hospital rehab for at least a month.
When he can sit in a wheelchair and fly without a doctor and nurse escort he will come home to nz.
So far over $100,000 has been spent on medical bills and flights
Charlie is working really hard with physio exercises and lung exercises to ready himself for medical flight transfer. At this stage we think it will need to be perth rather than new zealand (approximately $30000 to perth or $80000 to nz). If he goes to perth hospital he will stay there untill he can sit in a wheel chair and fly without a doctor and nurse escort back to nz
