Getting Eve to the Centre of Movement Intensive Therapy Course in QLD

This is all about our beautiful girl, Eve, and getting her to the Centre of Movement in Australia.

Eve is 16 months old. We knew things weren't right for Eve from the very early days and it has been a very long and difficult journey searching for answers.

Recently we’ve been told that Eve has an incredibly rare genetic disorder called Baker-Gordon syndrome. This means that her brain is not wired correctly. She has abnormal epileptic activity in her brain that affects her vision, strength, coordination and other areas of her development. There is no cure and no specific treatment.

All we have is to encourage and support Eve's development through therapy to help her learn new skills as early as possible, to help her reach her fullest potential and give her the very best chance in life. With weekly therapy Eve has already made amazing progress - learning to hold her head up, sit & roll. We know that more intensive and advanced therapy would be beneficial for Eve but unfortunately this is not available in New Zealand.

The Centre of Movement in Queensland, Australia offer 3 week intensive therapy sessions for children like Eve with disabilities to promote their development.

The course will cost $7000AUD and it is likely we will want to repeat it. We do however feel so strongly that Eve would benefit from this which is why we are raising money to help to get her there. We cannot thank you enough for any help you can give.
