Greater Green Island Community Playground

$200 of $150,000 goal

The Greater Green Island Community needs a fenced Playground for 0 to 6 year old's. Your contribution will make this happen.

Otago

The Community have informed us over the past three years of the need for a Playground in the Green Island area with equipment aimed at 0- 6 year old's as there a school playgrounds close by that cater for older children. A secure playground will be a huge asset to our community. The playground will be able to be used by all ages and will be a place for families and friends to connect for picnics and social gatherings, therefore strengthening Community connections. Although aimed at 0 to 6 years old's, the majority of the equipment will be accessible to all ages and abilities. The current Shand Street playground is very dated and is not in a desirable location. We are working with the Dunedin City Council on this project and they will be contributing what they can and will be maintaining the playground on completion. They are unfortunately unable to fund the whole project within current budgets. We will be applying for funding grants but all money donated from our community shows the value the community gives this project and their commitment to making it a reality.
