Raising funds for my gandaughter so that she can start a program for autism. The main focus is for her to talk and have friends.
Auckland
Our granddaughter has just been diagnosed with autism. She is a beautiful little girl living in her own world. We need to connect with her and we cannot do that without your help and therapy. The family are Kiwis who are living in Australia. They are not permanent residents so therefore cannot access any funding from the government. Gia is only three years old and was born in Australia but that does not count. We are trying to raise funds so that she can have the help she requires to fit in with her peers and society. The therapy for Gia is so expensive and so far over the last twelve months they have used all their savings for a speech therapist an occupational therapist, peadiatrition and clinical psychologist.
She is my granddaughter and I want her to have the best start in life so that she can adjust to the world from her outlook
A weekly therapy program for three hours a week, over a period of 40 weeks, with a speech, occupational therapist, and a clinical psychologist. Any additional money will go to speech therapy as she does not talk.
Gia’s first steps with”Little Stars” 21 May 2018
Gia has been to three therapy sessions, each week she spends time with a clinical psychologist, occupational therapist, and speech therapist. During the afternoon there is half an hour where she interacts with 6 other children. She is learning new skills all the time. Early intervention will make a huge difference to her development. As grandparents we must do everything we can to support her well being. Thank you to all the people who have donated towards her journey. We really do appreciate your help.
