To raise funds for Kevin to help with on-going medical costs and to spend quality time with his young daughter.
Marlborough
Kevin recently received the devastating news that he has a very aggressive type of stage 4 oesophageal cancer. The news is heart-breaking for Kevin's family and close-knit group of friends.
Kevin is currently undergoing chemotherapy but unfortunately, the prognosis is not good.
Kevin is reluctant to accept help but with some persuasion from friends he has given us the
go-ahead to start a Give A Little Page.
All funds raised would help to fund on-going medical costs and to spend quality time with his young daughter.
I am a work colleague of Kevin's. Together with two of Kevin's close friends, Susie and Paul, we have set up this Give a Little page for him.
Funds will be used for on-going medical costs and quality time with his young daughter.
Update 2nd August 2018 2 August 2018
Firstly a big thank you to Natasha and Susie for setting this Give-a-little page up.
To all the friends and family who have, and are, supporting me through this most difficult time. I would like to sincerely thank you for all for your donations and kind caring wishes. Your support makes a world of difference, knowing you are behind me and I will always be grateful for that.
I am facing the biggest challenge of my life and I need to do everything I can to remain positive to give myself the best chance to fight this disease and hope for the greatest outcome.
I have many good years of life left in me, and my main motivation to survive is to be there for Gemma and to see her grow and to have good times together. To be the Dad and role model that she needs.
I am currently undergoing chemo treatment and have had 3 rounds. This affects me greatly for a couple of weeks, making me feel very sick and nauseous. This, in turn, affects my appetite and eating patterns, making it hard to enjoy any type of food. I feel extremely tired and have nerve damage in my fingers.
This illness is constantly on my mind and takes over every thought and action, very hard to deal with when everything is so unknown.
But I must remain positive, I know it's going to be a long rough road I'm riding, but I need to get back on the smooth tarmac, as soon as possible.
I never thought I would ever be in this situation, after living such a healthy life, but I guess that's the nature of cancer, it choose's who it wants. If I can raise awareness of Oesophageal cancer that would be good because it's not something I knew about and is not well published. If you have any health concerns, no matter how small, see a doctor.
Once again, thank you for all the continued support, it's greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this page, as any further donations from individuals and businesses would be welcomed to continue the fight together.
Never give up, never give in and keep fighting.
-Kevin-
