Supporting Di Rappell to stand the best chance at a full recovery from Lung Cancer.
Bay of Plenty
Those of you who have had the pleasure of having Di Rappell teach your child or children; will know how much she loves teaching and those she teaches. Most recently her beautiful family of five have returned from Jakarta Indonesia after completing 3 years missionary work, in both development relief aid and teaching. In Indonesia Di's diagnosis was delayed and misdiagnosis were made along the way. The family have returned to New Zealand to seek treatment for Di after she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Di has never smoked so has a malignant form of lung cancer that needs a particular treatment. Originally Di was in hospital in isolation, whilst her family were in quarantine elsewhere. Now they are thankfully reunited.
The cost of the relocation and in particular the medication (Astra Zeneca (Osimertinib 80mg) to be purchased, needed to fight this deadly disease is extensively expensive. Yes, their insurance covers some of the cost but not all. If you feel it in your heart to bless this beautiful family, I know it will be gratefully received. All donations will help towards relocation, treatments costs over the next three years and the financial challenges being endured due to medication regime.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and to consider this option, it it most appreciated.
I first met Di Rappell when she taught my son. It was immediately evident to me that she was an outstanding teacher with a passion for all her students. From there we became friends.

It is with a heavy heart I write this update 22 June 2021
As most of you are aware Di passed away and she is missed by all those who's hearts she touched during her life. The money raised will go towards medical treatments expenses encountered and the cost of relocation. This money will therefore be donated to Clinton, Di's husband and their children.
