Supporting John Brown to rest so he can have the best chance at a full recovery from Bowel Cancer.
Bay of Plenty
2020 was pretty bad for the Brown family John, Linda, James, Frazer, William and Helani. With John unable to work for half the year with a concussion, as it turns out that 2021 can beat that. In January 2021 John was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer - urgent treatment has already started Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy combined, followed by extensive bowel surgery coming up in May, then ongoing Chemo for a few months after that.
John is someone who is always doing what he can to support his community and his family. Coaching junior rugby, chopping up firewood for raffles, cooking the BBQ at the school gala, helping people move house, fixing gates, mending chook yards, sober driving his teens and their friends home from town.
John is unable to return to full time work for the foreseeable future, after his surgery he needs to focus on his health and wellbeing. His wonderful wife Mrs Brown aka Linda is holding down the fort and working hard to manage the finances and keep a roof over their heads. With working full time and four kids, two cats, a dog and a whole lot of chickens to keep fed and watered there is not much time left to focus on health and wellbeing. It would be amazing if we could all give a little to allow John and Linda the peace of mind that the bills can be paid so John can focus on a full recovery not constantly worrying about rushing back to work too soon and risk his health deteriorating.
John is my Dad, I live in another city and can't be there everyday to help him but try to help when I can.
Paying the bills, keeping up with the mortgage and paying for all the things that make this family tick - fuel to travel to watch kids sport, tyres for the car, registration and maintaining family vehicle, firewood to keep the house warm.
