Give Jojit the Chance to Live—Not Just Be Kept Comfortable

A husband and dad is fighting for his life. Help Angelito access treatment that gives him a chance—where NZ could not.

Auckland

Angelito Laciste Jr (Jojit) is just 51. A husband, a father to a 6-year-old son, and now, in the fight of his life.

Weeks ago, he was diagnosed with an aggressive metastatic stomach cancer with peritoneal involvement—advanced and fast-spreading. In New Zealand, his medical and oncology team told him there were no curative options. The plan was palliative. The prognosis: less than 6 months to live.

Jojit is currently unable to eat or drink, in hospital on IV fluids and has an NG tube to manage a bowel obstruction. He is not receiving nutrition. Cancer treatment is not even started due to his obstruction. The message was clear: prepare for the end.

But Jojit and his family refused to give up hope.

They sought a second opinion from specialists at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, where oncologists proposed a very different approach—not just to manage symptoms, but to treat the cancer aggressively. The specialists there believe there’s a real chance to extend his life. Not just to make him comfortable—but to give him more time with his family.

The family is pursuing this treatment. They’re paying out of pocket. Insurance is limited. Costs—specialist care, hospitalisation, scans, flights, accommodation—are immense.

Your donation can help ease the financial burden on a family doing everything they can to fight for life. Please help if you can and share their story. Every bit of support matters.

SG update  1 July 2025

Yesterday, they arrived at Singapore and Jojit had further scans. Today, around 10am SG time, they will perform a pinhole surgery to do further biopsy. They will also commence his chemotherapy this week.

The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their gratitude to everyone who has been helping this page, and continuing to pray for him.
