Give Roxy a chance at life

  • 2.5 weeks post op

      27 December 2025

Just a wee update. Rox suffered an infection quite early on (just 1 week post op), but we noticed straight away and took her in. She is on a month course of antibiotics, a swab was taken to make sure they are the right treatment. It has made drastic improvements already!! We have started 5-minute controlled walks, and our next physio session is on the 6th of Jan. She is doing well, and we hope she maintains this progress. Xray's will be done at 6 weeks which will be the confirmation we need to see if it is healing. Thank you again, Love Kristen, Joey, Roxy and Ruby x

  • 6 DAYS POST SURGERY

Roxy is recovering well, in fact she's actually been quite naughty and really doesn't want to sit still! I'm going to take that as a positive though because she is obviously feeling quite good. We've had a bandage removal and cold therapy done at the physio and our next appointment is on the 23rd December. In the meantime, it is strict crate rest, controlled toilet walks 4-5 times a day, and basic at home physio (range of movement, keeping her toes wiggled etc.). Photo shows the gnarly plate and screws that were implanted!! Thank you for the support, we've got a long way to go and still lots of physio to pay for <3

Roxy’s surgery this morning went well at AOC Christchurch. The bone was very mobile so has been stabilised successfully. We’re back to square one post surgery but we are just so happy to have a chance at trying to rectify and save her leg. Off to pick her up for 3pm ❤️ We have 12-14 weeks of physio ($155 per week) to get through now. Please keep sharing and check out the giveaway on our instagram page. Lots of love, Kristen, Joey, Ruby and our darling Roxy x

  • Update 4th December

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support we have received, so THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for the shares, donations, and kind words.

Roxy was sedated on Tuesday and a fine needle was inserted into two places in her elbow so that fluid could be extracted and sent to the lab. We need to ensure we are not dealing with an infection prior to opening it back up.

The plan is that she will receive this operation on Tuesday, she is first on the list to go into theatre. A potential complication of this operation is that her body rejects the plate/pin (whatever mechanic they choose to use once they have seen what they are dealing with inside) but we have all our fingers and toes crossed. If this complication occurs, we will need to pay for surgical removal of the mechanics.

Please keep sharing with your friends, We have reached over 1/5 of our goal but we do need as much support as we can get. I will continue to post updates on her dog instagram and also on here. After this operation we will be sitting at the 12k mark for a SINGLE elbow.

    Thanks again and big hugs,

Love Roxy and her pawrents x
