Giving a little to honor Nathan Dahlberg and his legacy
Nelson
On 23 August 2024, we, Nathan's family, were notified that Nathan Dahlberg passed away in the mountains of the Qinghai Prefecture, in China, doing what he loved most - cycling and mountaineering. He is being remembered as a tough, competitive, humble Kiwi with an adventurer's spirit. He passed away in a place where he found his freedom. Unfortunately, he leaves behind a wife, a daughter (15 yrs), a son (14 yrs) as well as three older sons. The Dahlberg extended family would like to show their love to Nathan's wife and children by setting up this Give a Little page. This is a tangible way that we can share our love and thoughts to those who are left behind. Please feel free to share this page with anyone you know, who knew Nathan and, whose life has maybe been touched by his free spirit.
Nathan’s blog is an inspiring read and definitely gives you a sense of who this incredibly caring, humble and adventurous man was. May he continue to inspire us all to reach for those mountains in our lives
If you share this page we will be truly grateful. Even if you are not in a position to donate someone you share with may. We know Nathan touched the hearts of many with his intrepid journeys and inspirational story of life and being.
Nathan is my Cousin and Brother of Esther, co-created this give a little page.
All funds will go to support his 5 children during this challenging time. As Nathan passed away in a remote village in China costs are high and our extended Dahlberg family wish to support his children.
Funds to be paid to Don Harvey, Esther Dahlbergs husband. Esther is Nathan’s sister
Thank you 16 September 2024
Please accept the family's sincere thanks for the generous gifts towards Nathan's children. On Saturday, 14th Sept, we had a gathering of immediate family and close cycling and mountaineering friends of Nathan's. It was a time to remember a strong, kind, tough, ruggard man who lived life on his own terms. It was sad and yet many a funny story was told about our brother who gained success on the smell of an oily rag. He will be missed, most by his wife, Linna and his 5 children. And by family and friends who knew him well. Thank you to you all for being a part of his incredible journey on this earth.
