Glenbervie School Explorative Play Space Project

  • Playground Slide Update

      19 October 2017

As you may be aware, our new

double slide was stolen over the

    school holidays. We were

    overwhelmed with the support we

received from our community to help recover and

replace the slide. We received much needed

donations via our Give-A-Little campaign and the

Playground Centre sent us a replacement free of

charge! On Sunday the original slide was

recovered. Upon letting the Playground Centre

know the good news, they made our day even

brighter by insisting that we keep their donated

slide. They felt that an extra slide could be utilised

somewhere else in the playground and that we

deserved it. What a fabulous company. Rest

assured, any donations given during this time will

still be used to purchase much needed playground

    equipment.

  • Stolen Playground Slide Replacement Appeal

      10 October 2017
    Main image

Unfortunately, on 4th October, someone stole the brand new, double slide that was still fully wrapped and waiting to be assembled at Glenbervie School. It appears that it was taken between 6pm (Wednesday) and 6am (Thursday).

We have attached an example of what the bright blue double slide looks like. We are desperately trying to find out what happened to the slide and get it back but if we are unsuccessful we will need to replace it at our own expense. It is a huge part of our latest stage for our Active Playground that we were hoping to have up and running on the first day back of term 4.

Fundraising to reach this stage of the playground project has taken 2 years and all the children of Glenbervie School are heavily emotionally invested in the project. They are all going to be devastated at the loss that this calculated, selfish behaviour by a few individuals has caused them.

Thank you so much to the people who have already donated to our slide replacement fund since 7th May. We have raised $810 to date but need $2500 for the replacement slide.

    Regards

    from 240 sad students
