Fight camp fundraiser to support boxing equiptment in Ghana
Dunedin, Otago
I'm currently training for my first boxing fight — coming up in early May (about 6 weeks away) 👊
Part of the reason I even got into boxing was through a coach I have in Ghana. While training there, I learned a lot about the barriers people face getting into the sport — and it's something that's stuck with me as I've gone through this fight camp.
There's a huge passion for boxing in places like Bukom, Ghana, but the opportunities to train, access proper equipment, and fully commit to the sport are much harder to come by.
Together, with a coach I trained with in Ghana, I am fundraising to supply 7 gyms in Accra with gloves and pads. These are gyms producing incredible, professional-level boxers in environments we'd never expect champions to come from. And they're doing it with one set of gloves shared between five or six kids.
If you can donate, and help us raise enough for these gyms to get a set of gloves/pads that would be amazing. If not, sharing this goes just as far.
Thank you for getting behind this 🙏
I trained with Daniel in Accra, he is a well known and involved coach across the Boxing scene in Bukom, Ghana, and we are working together to identify, purchase, and distribute equipment directly to the 7 gyms most in need in the area.
Raising $2,000 NZD to supply 7 boxing gyms in Accra, Ghana, with gloves and pads — giving more kids the chance to train, compete, and succeed.
We are on our way! 30 March 2026
With the In-House fight done, I have some good ideas of what to focus on heading into the PWP6 fight on the 2nd of May —which is a weight off!
Being able to train hard in quality gloves has made a real difference in my preparation. Just imagine what that same opportunity could mean for young boxers in Ghana who don't have access to the same resources.
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far — your support means more than you know. If you know anyone or any businesses who might be interested in backing this kaupapa, please feel free to share this post or get in touch!
The photo is of one of the gyms we hope to give a pair of gloves too. I know it seems small, but it can still go a long way.
Nyame nhyira wo — God bless you 🙏
