Go the Mighty Flying Kiwis!!
International
We invite you to come join us and help get the New Zealand Hang Gliding team, The Flying Kiwis, airborne as they step onto the world stage at the 23rd FAI World Hang Gliding Championship, taking place at Krushevo, Macedonia.
From August 6th-19th, 2023, the team will be competing at the pinnacle of Hang Gliding competition against the top pilots from over 40 countries. Racing for over 12 days, a total of 130 pilots will be racing both as individuals and as teams to see who will be crowned the World Hang Gliding Champion, and the World Champion Nation.
Building on from the endeavours and successes of the 2019, Italian Worlds, The Flying Kiwis will be going from strength to strength to continue that great Kiwi tradition of punching well above our weight, and defying the odds.
With all funds raised to be equally shared amongst the team to cover things like travel costs, accommodation, glider transport and rentals, team merchandise and apparel, and transport. Any financial assistance you can offer, be it large or small, is humbly and gratefully appreciated. We really couldn’t do it without the love and support of our friends and family.
The 2023 Flying Kiwi’s are:
Matt Barlow
John ‘Booty’ Urlich
Piers Throssell
Ollie Derry
Steve Bankier
Phil Southward
Steve Cronin (team manager/driver)
So watch this space folks. It’s going to be epic. Thank you for your support, whatever that may be.
