Good Luck Chuck - Mobility Van Fundraiser/ Charlie's Funeral
Charlie is raising funds for a mobility van so he can be active in his community.
Porirua, Wellington
14-year-old Charlie is a wheelchair user who has rather suddenly outgrown his old equipment and moved into a larger wheelchair. While the new wheelchair has been an amazing blessing to Charlie, unfortunately, it is difficult to fit in the family vehicle, and it's hard for Charlie to transition from the chair to the car (particularly if the weather is bad).
Charlie needs a mobility van with a ramp and/or hoist so that he can safely travel to and fro around his community.
Use of funds
All funds will be used towards the purchase of a mobility van suitable for Charlie and his family to travel in. Should the goal be surpassed any excess funds will be used towards the install of a carpad for the vehicle at Charlie's residence.

We are now closing this fundraising page but would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported Charlie and our family, both through the fundraising we initially created this page for and the unexpected loss of Charlie from our lives. We miss him every day and are incredibly grateful that we were able to give him a farewell that reflected the joyful and happy person that he was.
Charlie is now at rest at Whenua Tapu Cemetery, he has a beautiful garden there which his family and friends tend with love, and there are birds which sing for him from the nearby trees.
