Gothia Cup- Kearis Houlihan

Hi,my name is Kearis Houlihan.

I am 15 years of age, I live in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt.

I have been selected to represent Wellington United at the Gothia Cup tournament in Sweden in July 2019. This tournament is the largest junior tournament in the world with over 1200 teams of varying ages normally attending. (In our group alone there are over 70 teams currently registered)

This will be the first time a team from New Zealand has attended this tournament since 1992.

In our U16 division there are already over 70 teams entered so the competition will be intense.

In order to be able to attend this week long tournament, I am seeking support from the local businesses and community and will also be undertaking various fundraising events as well.

This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my team mates to experience far more than just the football aspect of this trip, we hope to experience the full Swedish culture as well. I certainly hope to represent not only Wellington but also be a proud representative for New Zealand young ladies during this time.

Each of us has a target to raise to make this fantastic opportunity a reality.
