The GRACE Foundation looks after people with severe housing and social needs. Two Grace houses shelter mothers and their young children.

GRACE Foundation is a charitable trust that is community organised. They mainly help men and women released from prison to get back on their feet. They have grown from 2 to 24 houses in only two years. The demand is enormous. They have two houses with kids and their mums. I especially want those kids to have a Christmas that is not characterized by scarcity and exclusion but by generosity and inclusion. I've seen their work first hand. The houses are in an immaculate state. The entire programme is build on hauora - a Maori understanding of health that includes mental, social, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Volunteer house parents assist residents 24/7 with practical support and advice. GRACE is not government-funded and is based on the hard work of community volunteers. I hope that provides a bit more inside into the valuable work the trust does. Thanks for your time and consideration.
I am supporting the Grace Foundation by collecting among my professional and private networks. I believe that the conceptual framework is what New Zealand needs to lower its re-offending rate.
