Our homes, native bush and community are being threatened by a massive road. Please pitch in and help Save Graham's Bush and our Community!
Auckland
Auckland transport is planning to build a massive road in South Auckland that would destroy hundreds of our homes, cut a swathe through our communities and destroy irreplaceable native bush.
Auckland Transport wants to build this road to improve traffic congestion and make roads for yet to be built houses - at the cost of existing houses and communities!
We urgently need to raise funds for the hearing which will decide the fate of our communities and these beautiful stands of bush, some of which are 400 years old.
Please pitch in to help us hire environmental lawyers and various specialists such as ecologists, roading planners and engineers and others.
Mere laypeople will not be able to influence the Commissioners and they are the ones who will make recommendations to the Council on whether or not to approve AT's plans.
Not only is our community and precious bush threatened by this road, it also carries a huge economic cost to Auckland ratepayers and NZ taxpayers - 820 Million NZD. There are much more cost-effective options available such as fast, efficient public transport and improving the safety and layout of the existing roads that would leave our homes and precious native bush intact.
We need your help now to Save the Bush, Save our homes and communities!! It is time to show Auckland Transport that Aucklander's want more public transport and better planning, not more and bigger roads!
All donations help, please give a little, it will help a LOT!
The RREAG is a group of volunteer community members who have spent the last 3 years talking to Auckland Transport, the Council, Ministers, Local boards, various political parties, Greenpeace, and local Iwi to make everyone aware of this plan by AT that would devastate the rural green and safe environment which exists in South Auckland now. It will cut off wildlife from safe havens as these would be dissected by up to 6 lane wide roads and many would be killed.
