Hi Everyone,

I have the opportunity to attend a 5-week trip to Great Barrier Island as part of my learning journey at Hillcrest High. I am mowing lawns, weeding gardens and completing other odd jobs as they come up as a way to earn some money to help pay for this trip.

While on Great Barrier Island, we will be completing many 2-3 day expeditions and a range of outdoor activities including coasteering, high ropes course, sailing, sea kayaking, tramping, steep creeking, fishing, snorkelling, gardening and adventure based learning.

We will also be learning about cultural, economic, environmental and social sustainability, interacting during the process with local tangata whenua, business owners, primary school, Glenfern Sanctuary, DOC and the Orama community.

Any funds raised in excess of $3952 will be donated back to Hillcrest High to help support other students who would benefit from the trip but may not be able to attend due to financial constraints.

I am Dean's mum and would love to be able to send him on this amazing trip. He has been through some tough times in his life and has risen above all the crap.

Use of funds
