Fundraising for the future! Greenback is taking real action against climate change and needs your support.
Auckland
We're trying to raise money to build the Greenback app - "the fitbit of climate change action". We want to reward you and other Good Humans for reducing your emissions, helping New Zealand transition to a world leading, carbon neutral economy.
We're all really used to rewards like Flybuys, giving you redeemable points for buying more stuff - we want to create the Greenback, rewarding you for reducing your carbon footprint, partnering with business to plant trees and offering you discounts for your Greenbacks on goods and services.
Money you donate currently goes on developing our awesome app, helping you to easily measure, track and improve your emission-reducing behaviour. You'll be able see how that compares across the community and share stories and progress of your wins, alongside earning rewards for the changes you make. We know that the technology exists to enable the power of collaborative action and we want to build that tech here in New Zealand.
We're already working on planting projects and sending out free native seeds across New Zealand so that everyone can start planting for the future now (hit up the greenbackme.com website if you want some seeds). Sign up to stay updated with our progress and we're always on the lookout for Good Humans who want to get involved so don't be shy and say hi if you want to change the world with us!
We think that's something really exciting and really hope you feel the same. The time is now to action climate change, lead the world and plant some trees!
Prototyping and development of the platform to measure emissions, offer improvements and calculate rewards. Development of auditing technology to measure outcomes. Partnerships with relevant organisations to put new trees in the ground under the programme.
