Sharon suffered a stroke the morning of her grandsons funeral due to the grief that she has been feeling.
Waihi, Waikato
Sharon suffered a stroke on Wednesday 28th September due to the grief she was suffering after the loss of her grandson Blaze. Two hours before we were due to attend Blazes funeral Sharon had a funny turn. We thought she was dehydrated so gave her water. She wasn’t feeling better and then she lost feeling in her right side. We rushed her to the Te Puke medical Centre who checked her over and called an ambulance for her. Sharon didn’t get to attend her grandsons funeral. She is now recovering in Waikato Hospital and we are hoping she starts rehab tomorrow. As far as we know she will get no ACC support so we are hoping we can fundraise so that it takes the pressure off her and her husband Steve to pay bills, travel to Waikato hospital for Steve and so Steve can support her when Sharon comes home. We are asking that people let Sharon recover and if you have any questions you can contact our family through my email address on here. Thank you for understanding.
Sharon and Steve are my in laws.
The money will be spent on petrol for Steve to travel to Waikato each day from his home town, for if Steve needs time to support her when she gets home as she has a long road of recovery.
Sharon is on the mend 7 October 2022
Sharon has now moved into the rehabilitation ward at Waikato Hospital. She is doing physiotherapy each day and she is getting stronger each day. You will all be pleased to know that Sharon is still able to talk so she still has her sense of humour and has gained a little bit of mobility in her right arm. Thank you all so much for you love, kind words, thoughts and donations. If you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to email us.
