Help the people of Fiji by funding organic gardens so villages can grow vegetables and herbs to use and sell.

The morgues are full. That’s from today’s RNZ news about Fiji in the depths of a Covid catastrophe.
The health emergency is also an economic one. Fiji has no social welfare system so no work = no money.
Together with Fiji-based company Flame Tree developments and with your support we will fund organic raised gardens into Fiji villages, both to help solve the immediate problem and provide lasting support to communities.
We build organic raised gardens, complete with lettuces, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, capsicum, and herbs.. We install the gardens, supply the seedlings and provide the education so villagers can grow their own food. Any surplus veges they can sell on the side of the road to generate much-needed income. With no tourism in Fiji most people have lost their jobs and live day to day basically on nothing. Roti and cassava is a stable diet. Rice is too expensive for most to buy. Our gardens also give them the basic needs with good nutrients which most don't have here. Help us to Help these beautiful people.
Like many Kiwis, our family has a long connection to Fiji. We support many Fijian families directly but with your help could do much more.
$2599 fully funds 10 garden beds, complete with vegetable and herb seedlings, watering cans and gardening tools. Complete training by Flametree landscaping. We are also building a chicken hutch to house 60 chickens for breeding and supply of daily eggs. This one off massive chicken hutch comes at a cost of approx $3000.00. Every garden will continue to provide food, income and skills for villages for years to come.
Opening of the Navoci online learning centre 3 October 2021
40 garden beds, a piggery, a chicken hatchery, a re-sealed driveway and now the opening of an Online learning centre in the village hall of Navoci.
#FijiGrowTogether has changed the life of the people of this village in a lasting and sustainable way, but we aren’t done yet.
We will be turning our attention to the village of Vatutu in the coming weeks with 60 garden beds on order, taking the total number of gardens to 170 in 4 villages. In the meantime, we are doubling back on seedlings and garden workshops for the people of Navoci, Namototo and Navatulevu this week.
