Project Hope, a safe haven for emotionally, physically and sexually abused children and youth.

$377 of $7,000 goal
Given by 3 generous donors in 10 weeks

Project Hope changes children and youths lives. They prevent and heal emotional, physical and sexual abuse within families, in New-Zealand.

Auckland

The official project name is, Mother of Divine Mercy Youth Project "Hope" Refuge, unfortunately this incredible, life changing project has no government funding resulting in 20 families living in one home.

Project Hope aims to preserve the "preciousness" of children. They provide new strategies to heal and meet the needs of the people in need. I personally have seen the immense strength and resilience this project encourages, the young talented individuals sing and dance as a form of therapy.

This project urgently needs funds to support the living costs of many of the families, who have experienced difficult times, that most of us can hardly imagine.

Due to my passion for helping those in need, I began a to pursue a career in healthcare, to become a Registered Nurse. I’m currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing, at Auckland University of Technology. The Miss World New Zealand Finalists will be raising funds, that go towards assisting, the Project Hope Charity to support youths, who have endured, mental, physical and sexual childhood abuse. Due to my passion for Nursing, social issues and Mental Health, this project is very significant to me as I believe in a society, which supports healthcare equality.

The Miss World NZ finalists had the pleasure of watching a performance and meeting the inspiring, strong, resilient men and women involved in the charity, Mother of Divine Mercy Youth Project "Hope". I was lucky enough to speak to a young woman who calls, the Project Hope housing a home, she also told me she aspires to become a Nurse. Despite the serious obstacles she encountered earlier during her life, Project Hope encouraged her to attain bright prospects as a young adult. Another young woman gave me a rosary necklace as a gift, which was incredibly selfless, heartwarming and humbling, thank you Jacinta. I feel very encouraged to assist the project in any way I can, due to the immense, proven positive effects I have personally seen on everyone involved. I will also dedicate my time to offer volunteering through mentoring, education, tutoring, health assessments, gifts and in any other way they require.

Use of funds

Project Hope, mainly requires financial assistance to support their young ones. The following is an excerpt from a Project Hope leader: "In regards to supporting our families, we are most grateful for any donations, financial or practical support in particular toiletries, food, clothing, household items, basically anything and everything a family can use to re-settle into their new homes and to assist families that are currently residing within refuge"-Agnes.
