Often known for not putting limits on myself, This is why I’m choosing to help not one but two amazing causes Jacinta and Child Cancer

Wellington

Hi I’m Hamish Blundell!

for those of you who know me, will know that I have carried these locks through all aspects of my life and they have very much become a big part of the hamish blundell brand!

Recently I ran into an old friend who I new had come face to face with some challenges regarding his beautiful daughter Jacinta. She is currently suffering from a crippling and traumatic disease called Rett Syndrome. This effects Jacintas physical capabilities and limits her ability to communicate verbally.

To put this into perspective, Jacinta finds difficulty in what other may be priveledged to do such as, holding a pen, speaking to loved ones, or use body language to even act out what she may be trying to communicate.

I have 2 children myself and so hearing this news saddened me completely, and made me realise how lucky people are to have these capabilities we often take for granted. So, if there was anything I could do, I wanted to do it.

It wasn’t until Jacinta was 18 that she had the opportunity to her father she loved him and wanted a hug, thanks to the advancement in technology. However, despite Jacintas new tools that could help her further her education and way in life, she is now too old to continue attending her school which allows her to learn through this technological method. This also means no further funding.

As a father you want to be able to do what ever it takes to better your children’s lives and enhance their capabilities. Therefore, I am wanting to shave of these famous dreads that have led life with me, to raise money for Jacinta and her Family as well as the child cancer society.

There is no way right now to change Jacintas situation, but if there is a way to improve her circumstances in any way, I want to do it!

Whatever is made within this fundraiser will be equally divided and given to both Jacinta and the child cancer society- hearing Jacintas situation made me want to help her, however, I also understand that there are other children out there in her situation that could benefit from out help, which is why I will also be donating to the child cancer foundation.

We are currently living in a crazy and unprecendented time and know how much a simple kindness can impact our lives, so if there is any right time for giving a little it’s now!

Please donate whatever you can, anything can make a difference!
