Half/Time are returning to the UK and are raising funds to support our on road costs!
Auckland
Half/Time are once again embarking on a haerenga to the UK, to take our reo rangatira and our waiata to the international stage. We have been invited back to FOCUS Festival in Wales, during which we'll be playing 4 shows, and featuring on a panel kōrero about language diversity in music. We've locked in 8 other shows while over there, including in England and Alba (Scotland).
Unfortunately our applications to funding bodies in NZ were all rejected, so outright costs have been paid for by our generous tour manager out of their own pocket, plus the $5k or so raised on our NZ tour.
A recent UK law change has meant our drummer has had to apply for a UK passport, which meant a heap of unexpected costs for us (courier, passport itself, follow up courier, urgent processing). The application has only just been approved so we are going to need to pay $1600+ to move their flights back.
If you are in a position to give, we would be extremely grateful for the support, but we also understand the current economic situation has left many with very little surplus in the bank. Any amount counts, even a share of our posts, a comment, or a message to friends and whānau in the UK encouraging them to come to a gig while we’re on tour.
The donated funds will go towards recouping our on-the-road costs, paying off our loan, koha to hau kāinga that host us, and contributing to the local scenes of the places we're visiting.
Update 25 April 2026
Auē, e mihi ana ki a koutou, everyone is incredibly generous!
We put the lowest amount that we could because we didn't want to ask too much of our communities, but truthfully $6000 is closer to our actual debt/shortfall. If we don't meet this goal it's not the end of the world, but it would make our lives and trip significantly less stressful.
Ngā mihi nunui, thank you all so much again!
