Hand Up Foundation aims to 'level the playing field' for young & talented, but financially disadvantaged, sports people.

Auckland

Now that Hand Up has established a sound record of success, having provided 49 of its scholarships, we are looking to increase our impact by expanding our sponsor base. With more funds in, we can help more talented young sports people.

In 2017, the Hand Up Foundation would like to significantly increase the number of talented students it supports. In 2016, Hand Up supported 7 students. In 2017, the Hand Up Foundation would like to increase the number of students to 20. To do so, we require further funding of $10,000 by March 2017.

100% of funds donated to Hand Up go towards the students it supports.

Hand Up Foundation's involvement (page creator)

I established the Hand Up Foundation because I am passionate about giving young people a sporting chance to achieve their aspirations.

I have many years experience working in the youth space and am very aware of the challenges some of NZ's most talented, but financially disadvantaged young people face.

About us

The primary aim of Hand Up is to assist young people achieve their aspirations in their chosen sports, by helping to remove some of the financial barriers which may exist.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
